Job Description:
We are seeking an exprienced Bookkeeper with expertise in Sage and QuickBooks Online to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction or concrete industry accounting, managing financial records, and ensuring compliance with industry-specific financial practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
Reconcile bank and credit card statements
Process payroll and job costing in alignment with construction/concrete industry standards
Maintain general ledger entries and ensure accuracy in financial reporting
Prepare and file sales tax reports and financial statements
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Collaborate with project managers to track job costs and project expenses
Ensure compliance with construction accounting standards, including AIA billing and progress invoicing
Work with external accountants to prepare for tax filings and audits
Qualifications:
3+ years of bookkeeping experience in the construction or concrete industry
Proficiency in Sage 50, Sage 100, and/or QuickBooks Online
Strong understanding of construction accounting practices, including job costing, WIP schedules, and lien waivers
Experience with payroll processing and certified payroll reporting
Knowledge of AIA billing, retainage, and subcontractor compliance
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or Viewpoint)
Familiarity with prevailing wage reporting and union payroll
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required)
