Job Description

The mission of the FOCUS Events Department as committed disciples is to plan events that facilitate an encounter with Christ for all people who are seeking truth, authentic friendship, and a deeper intimacy with Christ and His Church. We accomplish this with excellence, through unified and joyful service, to save souls and fulfill the Great Commission.

The role of the Event Specialist is critical to the team and to greater success of our events by touching various facets of the attendee experience, including but not limited to: venue coordination, vendor management, contract negotiation, food and beverage planning, lodging coordination, programming, inter-departmental collaboration and coordination, budget and financials, and more. By taking care of the various details for each attendee, this role allows the attendee to focus on encountering Christ in a fuller way and being transformed by Him through our events.

Responsibilities Include

  • Liaison for event with venue event coordinator
  • Coordinates all food and beverage needs within venue or vendor
  • Ensures costs do not exceed budget by more than 5%
  • Solicits detailed proposals and scopes of work for vendors of various aspects of event, if needed
  • Works with vendors onsite at event to ensure proper execution of event
  • Plans and manages all aspects of projects according to timeline for success
  • Meets with stakeholders on regular basis to ensure detailed planning and execution of their event needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven experience in planning and implementing small and large events
  • Experience with project management and ability to meet deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to drive projects forward with multiple stakeholders, while finding win-win solutions

Compensation

In this position, you will build and maintain a personal support team through the practice of Mission Partner Development. FOCUS provides training and support in this area. Total compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

This position is located at our office in Genesee, Colorado.
