Painter/Laborer | Cedar City, UT

Nexeo HR is now hiring a Painter/Laborer to support steel fabrication and finishing operations at a busy fabrication shop near Cedar City, UT. Responsibilities

• Prep & Prime Steel: Clean and prep steel parts using grinders, wire brushes, and hand tools before applying primer paint.
• Read & Measure Materials Accurately: Use a tape measure to 1/16", verify materials, and follow detailed job specs.
• General Labor Support: Assist with cutting, loading, organizing, and moving steel fabrication materials across the shop.
• Operate Tools & Equipment: Safely operate saws, drills, paint guns, forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes.
• Use a tablet to access blueprints and record job progress in real-time.
• Maintain shop organization and adhere to all company safety standards.
• Support welders, fitters, and other fabrication shop staff with daily operations and job site installations when needed.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical, fabrication, or construction skills & experience (grinders, saws, drills, etc.)
• Experience in industrial painting, construction labor, metal work, or welding/fabrication shop is preferred, but not required
• Forklift, crane, or pallet jack experience is a plus
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16" and interpret basic shop drawings
• Comfortable lifting heavy materials and performing physically demanding tasks
• Positive, safety-minded, and team-oriented
• Basic computer/tablet skills (Excel, Google Sheets, etc.)

Pay 

$15.00 - $18.00 Per Hour

Schedule 

Day Shift | Monday – Friday | 7:00AM – 5:30PM
