This is an exciting opportunity to help DoD Uncrewed Systems pioneer new data communications technology ensuring mission success. As an RF Communications Signal Processing Test Engineer, you'll be an integral part of a dynamic engineering team that helps shape the future of advanced communication systems for the Department of Defense (DoD). In this role, you'll conduct in-depth analyses and studies to provide critical insights and recommendations, empowering our DoD customers to make informed decisions on next-generation communication solutions. Share your resume with us today!** **Primary Responsibilities.** + Support team members in the analysis of pertinent communications technologies targeted for the DoD uncrewed systems community. + Support team members in the experimentation, both lab and outdoor environments, with new communications technologies. + Support team members in the analysis of data acquired in the testing activities. + Support team members in the reporting and presentation of test data. **Basic Qualifications.** + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics with at least 4-8 years of relevant experience in RF signal processing, communications, or Electronic Warfare (EW) environments or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics with at least 2-6 years of relevant experience in RF signal processing, communications, or Electronic Warfare (EW) environments. + Strong understanding of RF concepts, including RF testing, propagation, schematics, and link budgets, especially in relation to over-the-air signal detection. + Proficient in communications waveform modulation theory, including techniques such as Phase-Shift Keying (PSK) and Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM). + Knowledgeable in Forward Error Correction (FEC) methods, including Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC), turbo codes, and Reed-Solomon (RS) coding. + Hands-on experience with RF test equipment, including spectrum/signal analyzers, function generators, and oscilloscopes. + Experienced in radio testing in both laboratory and outdoor (e.g., field, flight testing) environments. + Skilled in processing and interpreting complex data sets, with proficiency in object-oriented MATLAB programming or similar analytical tools. + Must be a US Citizen and process and be able to maintain an active Secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance. + Must be a resident of Huntsville, AL or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area. **Preferred Qualifications** + Strong foundation in waveform modulation theory, including techniques such as PSK and QAM. + Proficiency in signal modeling, filter and noise modeling, Fourier transforms, and general signal processing techniques. + Practical experience with Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) and LOS communication systems. **Original Posting:** April 1, 2025 For U.S. Positions: While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above. **Pay Range:** Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
