Skilled Laborer Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Skilled Construction Worker to join our team. The role involves performing advanced construction tasks, such as carpentry, concrete work, or equipment operation, to support the completion of residential projects. The ideal candidate is proficient in their trade, detailed-oriented, and committed to maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Construction Tasks: Execute skilled work such as framing, drywall installation, concrete pouring, masonry, roofing, or finish carpentry.
  • Tool Operation: Safely operate hand tools, power tools. 
  • Installation: Install structural components, windows, doors, siding, or flooring with precision.
  • Material Preparation: Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials such as wood, metal, concrete, or drywall with precision. 
  • Repairs: Perform maintenance or corrective work on existing structures, such as fixing beams or replacing damaged materials.
  • Collaboration: Work with other team members to coordinate project phases.
  • Site Maintenance: Assist with site cleanup, material handling, and organization to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve construction related issues. 

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years in construction or a specific trade (e.g., carpentry, masonry, concrete).
  • Skills: Proficiency in one or more construction trades, and use of construction tools/equipment. 
  • Certifications: Trade-specific certifications or licenses preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and attention to detail.
  • Other: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required; own tools preferred.
